Notes:

I’d like to talk to you this morning about a little gathering that USENIX sponsored in Seattle this past August. There were actually two workshops running in serial. The first workshop, The USENIX Windows NT Workshop, was a developers workshop. The second workshop that week is the one I’m here to tell you about. I won’t say it was an unqualified success, some of the presentation were not as strong as we would have liked, but overall I will say this: it was a well received and well attended workshop where everyone I spoke with took something away with them.

The reaction from the people who had never attended a USENIX event was overwhelming. Most of them said they had never seen so many technically savvy people assembled in one place. I told them they should try coming to a LISA conference sometime.
