CONFERENCE SERVICES
Internet Access/Wireless Network
USENIX is pleased to offer Internet connectivity at LISA '05 via an open, unsecured 802.11b WiFi network. Those not wishing to use wireless can plug in and charge up in the Laptop Room (Terrace Salon 3). No laptop? No problem. The Terminal Room (Terrace Salon 2) will offer a few *NIX terminals with a Web browser and your favorite shell. New this year, CMU is providing network statistics and monitoring. Stop by the Terminal Room to witness the wonder that is Argus. For more information about the network, stop by the Terminal Room, send email to wireless@usenix.org, ask for Tony at the registration desk, or click here.
The wired and wireless networks provided by USENIX at this conference are for the use of conference attendees only, subject to the following
conditions:
- USENIX may monitor these networks.
- Any illicit or intrusive use of the network, including packet sniffing,
is expressly forbidden.
- The wireless network is open and insecure. USENIX strongly recommends that all users encrypt their transmissions. Users are solely responsible for the security of their passwords and data.
If you have any questions or concerns about the use of these networks, please contact any USENIX staff or Board member immediately.

Bulletin Boards/Vendor Literature
Bulletin boards in the registration area hold messages for attendees, the latest schedule for Birds-of-a-Feather sessions, and job opportunities. You can also pick up information on products, services, and special offers from the literature tables in the Atlas Foyer.
LISA Message Desk
If someone needs to reach you, please have the person call (619) 908-5072 and ask to be connected to the USENIX registration desk. The message center will be open Sunday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Messages will be posted near the registration desk in the Atlas Foyer.
Solve My Problem Boards
This year LISA will have Solve My Problem Boards distributed throughout the conference site. Attendees will be able to post a problem on an SMP board the way they might on a newsgroup or mailing list. As attendees walk by, they can read the problems and responses posted, compose their own answer, and tack it up. As the conference goes on, attendees may receive more and more answers to their questions. Popular topics on the boards may spin off their own Birds-of-a-Feather sessions for more in-depth discussion.
