Would you like to share a provocative opinion, interesting preliminary work,
or a cool idea that will provoke discussion? The USENIX Security technical
sessions will include slots for work-in-progress (WiPs) reports and a poster
session. WiPs are the last session of the conference; posters will be
presented during the pool-side reception a day earlier. We are particularly
interested in presentations of student work. To submit, please send a
proposal (one page or less, PS or PDF, please) via email to
sec04wips@usenix.org by August 2, 2004new extended deadline! Note that we have a
limited number of slots available for WiPs and Posters; proposals received
by the deadline will be considered with a higher priority than those
received late. Please indicate if you wish your proposal to be considered
for a WiP report, a poster session, or either; if you choose either, you may
specify a preference for WiP or Poster.
Make sure to include your name, names of collaborators, all affiliations,
and the title of your WiP or poster. All accepted abstracts will be posted
on this Web site; final WiP and poster presentations will also be posted to
the conference Web site after the conference is over. The time available for
WiPs will be distributed among the presenters, with each speaker allocated
between 5 and 10 minutes. This time limit will be strictly enforced. The
schedule of presentations will be posted at the Symposium and on this Web
site. Poster presenters will have the entirety of the evening reception
to discuss their work with attendees.
You will be notified if your WiP or poster was accepted by August 5, 2004. If
your WiP is accepted, you will have to email your presentation (PowerPoint
or PDF only) by August 8th to sec04wips@usenix.org. All WiP presentations
will be verified, pre-loaded onto, and presented using a single laptop.
