Welcome to the Press Center for the 3rd Annual Atlanta Linux Showcase 1999.

The Atlanta Linux Showcase is the community's premier technical and community show organized and run by a group of computer professionals wishing to help promote Linux. ALS was founded in 1997 and is run entirely by volunteers. Last years show was the largest Linux event in 1998 drawing its attendees from 23 countries. The Atlanta Linux Showcase, Inc. is a not-for-profit corporation.

The 1999 Atlanta Linux Showcase consists of two days of tutorials organized in conjunction with USENIX, three days of Technical Conference talks with over 40 international speakers divided over three conference tracks, and a showfloor with 70 exhibitors showing the latest Linux hardware, software, books, magazines, CDROMs, t-shirts and more.

After registration and approval, Press attendees receive:

  • Free access to the ALS showfloor.
  • Free access to Keynotes.
  • Free access to all Birds of a Feather Sessions.
  • Complimentary access to all Conference Sessions.
  • Priority check-in.
Press badges are not available for sponsors or advertisers. Also excluded are marketing or sales representatives, and technical or operational staff to the media. Press attendees do not receive complimentary access to Tutorials.

  • Hewlett-Packard Company and The Puffin Group host the PA-RISC/Linux PuffinFest.

    March 8, 1999, ALE Announce 1999 Atlanta Linux Showcase:
