Internet-based transaction processing will permit organizations to easily work with both customers and business partners without incurring the costs of building private networks. Security enhancements will also make wide-area electronic data interchange (EDI) - until now an expensive luxury for all but the largest corporations - affordable for businesses and organizations of all sizes and types.
The business benefits from these new types of inter-organizational applications are clear, but technical issues will delay the accrual of these benefits unless they are resolved. In this panel, we will define the problem and explore some possible solutions.
