Why should you stay in the headquarters hotel?
We strongly encourage you to stay in the conference hotel and when making your reservation to identify yourself as a USENIX or LISA conference attendee.

By contracting rooms for our attendees, we significantly reduce hotel charges for meeting room rental. When those sleeping rooms are not occupied, we face significant financial penalties. Those penalties force us to ultimately raise registration fees.

With costs going higher and higher, we are working hard to negotiate the very best hotel rates for you and to keep other conference expenses down, in order to keep registration fees as low as possible. We appreciate your help in this endeavor.

DISCOUNT AIRFARES
Special discounted airfares have been negotiated with United Airlines:

  • 5% off any published fare on United Airlines, United Express, or Shuttle by United.
  • 10% off coach fares (BUA) when reservations are made in "M" class and utilize the MTGUA Unique Fare Basis Code.

Make reservations through your travel agent or directly with United Airlines at 800.521.4041. Refer to Meeting ID Number 510CH.

TRANSPORTATION
Hotel parking is complimentary. The Town & Country Resort and Convention Center is approximately 10 minutes from the San Diego International Airport, Lindbergh Field. Airport transportation options include taxi (approx. $20-22 one way) and Cloud 9 Shuttle ($8.50 one way). The shuttle is located outside Baggage Claim in the Transportation Plaza area.

The San Diego Trolley is adjacent to the Town & Country. It is known for its reliability, safety, and convenience. Often called San Diego's "moving landmark," the Trolley is also a fun way to get around, whether traveling to the International Border or heading to Centre City's shopping, restaurants, harbor, and historic attractions. The San Diego Trolley now serves historic Old Town—California's birthplace—with its many shops and restaurants, Mission San Diego, the USA/Mexico border in San Ysidro, and Qualcomm Stadium at Jack Murphy Field. Visit https://www.sdcommute.com/riderinfo/trolley/index.asp for more information.

Further information is available from the San Diego Convention and Visitors Bureau Web site, as well as the Town and Country's own site.
