Design and Implementation of a Flexibility Layer for Efficient Filesystem Management

We design an abstraction layer which has an interface that manages a cache-coherent map between a unified addressable space and separate object pools, with a dedicated policy. Maintaining a cache-coherency is aimed to ease reconfiguration of object pools. As an application, We will implement this abstraction layer with filesystem on a open source UNIX operating system. With this filesystem, there would be no need to back up and restore the whole data in the filesystem, so as to extend or shrink the size of filesystem.
