Notes:
- There aren’t enough SAGE level 4 NT sysadmins to go around
- The whole NT networking infrastructure doesn’t scale beyond a small company yet (WINS is a nightmare)
- NT is being deployed in areas where it has become critical to the day-to-day operations of many companies.
- Bringing NT, UNIX, VMS and Netware namespaces together is really tough and requires a lot of hacking. Hopefully technologies like LDAP will improve this in the near future.
- All the people from Microsoft came away really impressed with the USENIX culture and the depth of understanding people at the workshop demonstrated. And they seemed to really listen to the criticisms people voiced about their products.
