The Atlanta Linux Enthusiasts, in cooperation with USENIX and Linux International, is pleased to announce the 3rd Annual Atlanta Linux Showcase. The Atlanta Linux Showcase will be held at the Cobb Galleria Centre in Atlanta on October 12-16 1999.

The past year has seen Linux gain a great deal of mainstream media attention and industry support, and our Conference is expanding accordingly. The 3rd Annual Atlanta Linux Showcase will feature three conference tracks over three days with 40 speakers discussing the technical and business issues concerning the Linux Operating System. In addition, an exhibition with over 140 vendors, will showcase the latest industry products for Linux. With the attention Linux has garnered in recent months, we expect over 4000 attendees.

• We are currently accepting vendor registrations for the exhibition. A discount will be in effect for all vendors signing up before April 15, 1999.
• Conference Pre-Registration will begin in May of 1999.
• Exhibits-Only Attendance will be free of charge and open to the public with registration.

Linux
Linux is a UNIX like operating system, an alternative to MacOS and Microsoft Windows. Created by Linus Torvalds in 1991, its popularity has greatly increased in the past two years. Estimates state that there are 7 million Linux systems world wide, making it one of the most popular UNIX like operating systems on the market. Linux, developed in cooperation with the Free Software Foundation, is released under the GNU General public license, making it and the source code comprising it freely available to everyone. Atlanta Linux Showcase
The Atlanta Linux Showcase is organized and run by a group of computer professionals wishing to help promote Linux. ALS is run entirely by volunteers, and Atlanta Linux Showcase, Inc. is a not-for-profit corporation.

Atlanta Linux Enthusiasts
The Atlanta Linux Enthusiasts (ALE) is the Atlanta Linux Users Group dedicated to advocating the use of Linux and providing an educational resource to the local Linux Community.
