INVITED TALKS, TUTORIALS, WIPS, AND BOFS
Invited Talks
These presentations and discussions by industry leaders and technical luminaries
highlight the hottest new products, the busy sites running on Linux, and
personal experiences. These
survey-style talks given by experts range over many interesting and timely
topics. We welcome your suggestions for topics and
requests proposals for particular talks. In your proposal state the main focus,
including a brief outline, and be sure to emphasize why your topic is of general
interest to our community. Please submit via email to
alsinvited@usenix.org.
Tutorials (November 5 -7, 2001)
Gain mastery of complex techniques and technologies and you'll get immediate
payoff within your organization. ALS offers state-of-the-art, full and half day
tutorials from top experts in their fields. Topics range from introductory
skills to advanced topics, updates on developments and news including
administering Linux, TCP/IP networking, programming, and configuring Internet
services.
To provide the best possible tutorial offerings, we continually solicit
proposals for new tutorials. If you are interested in presenting a tutorial, please send email to:
alstutorials@usenix.org.
Work-in-Progress Reports (WiPs)
Are you just beginning a project you'd like to share or are doing some
interesting work that isn't ready for publication yet? Then
WiPs, are for you. The ALS audience provides valuable feedback and is always
willing to discuss new advancements. Presentations of student works are
particularly welcome. WiPs may be scheduled in advance by sending email to
alswips@usenix.org or at the conference.
Birds-of-a-Feather
Birds-of-a-Feather sessions (BoFs) are informal gatherings organized by attendees
for attendees interested in a particular topic. BoFs are held in the evenings
and may be scheduled in advance via email to alsbofs@usenix.org or at the
conference.
