Sponsorship Opportunities

I. Benefit Dinner Sponsorship
Cost: $1,000 per sponsor
Event Date: Friday, October 13, 2000

Every year ALS selects a worthy organization to receive a donation in support of their Linux environment and commitment to the Linux community. The ALS 2000 team invites you to share in our efforts to educate and expand the Linux community through financial assistance. This year the benefit dinner is held in support of the EFF DeCSS defense fund.

II. Welcome Dinner Sponsorship
Cost: $25,000
Event Date: Wednesday, October 11, 2000

This is the opportunity to meet and network with potential clients. ALS 2000 not only brings the most technical attendees under one roof -- it also brings the top companies and executives in the Linux professional community. Sponsor would receive signage at the dinner and promotion in the show guide.

III. Space on Proceeding CD
Cost: $250 for 5 megabits and $50 for each additional megabit

As there is ample space on the ALS 2000 conference CD produced by LinuxCentral for product samples, games, trivia, and other fun and productive additions. This space is not available for presentation of marketing materials. Sponsors benefit by each attendee taking home a piece of their product to be explored that will long after the conference.

IV. Show Bag SOLD!
Cost: $12,000

Every attendee will be given a bag during registration that will have the sponsor logos on one side and the conference particulars on the other. Sponsor provides artwork and funds, USENIX produces and distributes the bags.

V. Speaker Gifts
Cost: $ 2,000

A nice way to say thank you to our speakers. Gift will be selected by ALS and sponsors will have a mention on the show guide and web page.

VI. Terminal Room
Cost: 30 computers + $2,500 or $20,000
Event Date: Entire Conference

This year we plan on having 20-30 systems available for attendee use. As part of this package, the sponsor will receive installation of the company's logo as a screen saver and desktop wallpaper. All of the systems will be running Linux. Computer manufacturers can provide their own systems, or we can rent the systems locally (a discount can be offered for companies that supply the systems). This is an excellent opportunity for computer manufacturers to showcase their products.

VII. Badge Holders SOLD!
Cost: $12,000

Every attendee will have to have a badge, and there is no better way to get a company's name out than having it on the neck straps each attendee will wear. Sponsor provides artwork and funds, USENIX produces and distributes the badges.

VIII. Show Bag Inserts SOLD!
Cost: $1000 + Materials

These are gifts and giveaways in addition to the magazines/literature provided by the media sponsors. USENIX controls the content in terms of weight and size and sponsor companies supply the insert by a pre-arranged deadline. Inserts can range from a flyer or message in the tote bag to CDs, pens, and mouse pads. We will not accept large or heavy inserts. Materials are due with payment a minimum of one month prior to the show.

IX. Green Room
Cost: $1,000
Event Date: Entire Conference

We are setting aside a separate room for the exclusive use of speakers and press in which to work and prepare presentations. We intend to provide a few Linux systems, connected to the Internet, exclusively for their use. In addition, refreshments will be provided. Sponsors will be able to place banners, signs, and literature in the room as well as promotional space in the show guide.

X. Sponsor a Speaker
Cost: $2500 per speaker
Event Date: Entire Conference

Because much of the Linux community is comprised of volunteers, many speakers will not be reimbursed by their employers for attending the conference. Sponsor companies can assist by providing funds for speaker travel and lodging expenses. In acknowledgement, the sponsor's logo will appear in the conference proceedings. Sponsorships will be acknowledged during the conference opening remarks and again during the introduction of "their" speaker.

XI. Aisle Signs
Cost: $1000

Sponsors will get their company's logo on all the aisle signs throughout the show floor. Aisle signs will be provided by the decorator using your logo.

XII. Show Network Cabling
Cost: $10,000

One of the unique trademarks of the ALS exhibition is the show network. Few other shows will provide network connectivity to all exhibitors. By sponsoring the show's network cabling, the sponsor company will be mentioned in the show guide, in a section called "About the ALS show network" along with their logo.

XIII. Dave and Buster's - Attendee Social
Cost: $5,000 per sponsor (4 available)
Event Date: Thursday, October 12, 2000

This was a very popular event in the 1999 show that drew a lot of attendees. ALS will coordinate the location rental and the transportation. Attendees appreciate the opportunity to travel out of the conference location and have some fun. Sponsors find this a great opportunity to meet attendees in a relaxed, casual environment. Attendees remember event sponsors and spread the word!

XIV. Shuttle Buses
Cost: $1000
Event Date: Thursday, October 12, 2000

Shuttle buses will only be needed if Dave and Buster's happens. Shuttle buses will set a roundtrip schedule from the Waverly/Cobb to Dave and Buster's on Thursday evening. Depending on the arrangements made, sponsors may be able to display their logo and company information on the side of the bus - advertising aimed at both attendees and the Atlanta community.

XV. Sponsor a Conference Coffee Break:
Cost: $4,000 Exclusive per break

Have every attendee see your logo by sponsoring a conference coffee break. We will provide table-top signs and hang your supplied banner to publicize your company and its support for attendees.
