What do we need? (IMHO)
<HEAVY_OPINION>
  - Every organization needs a Chief Hacking Officer

- Accept that system administrators are as
       essential to
the New Economy as doctors, lawyers, accountants,
and engineers were to the Old Economy.

- Business community must acknowledge security as a
cost of doing business, just like they do with physical security

- Network designers can no longer put speed and access above
security (you cannot have the first two without the third)

- Software/OS vendors must adopt the same kinds of
standards and practices as other mature industries (e.g.,
       automobiles, building construction, transportation)

- Either acknowledge that the Internet is not
a reliable place to do "important" things like commerce,
provide health care, control air traffic and hydroelectric
power, or pay what it takes to fix it so it can be
       reliable

- If the computer industry doesn't want the government to
get involved, then stop whining and fix the problems

- Its time to stop pandering to users' increasing demands for
services and features and start teaching them how to survive
       on a hostile Internet
