Poster Submission Instructions [Back to Activities]
OrganizationThe OSDI 2000 Poster session will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 on Tuesday, October 24 during the OSDI 2000 Symposium. Physically, a "poster" is a portrait format sheet of paper, mounted on foam-core, 3' x 4' in size. Usually it is broken down into several frames, which correspond to the slides in a presentation. A presenter stands by these posters and describes the work to people as they view the material. A poster is an ideal way to present your ongoing work in a more structured manner than a work-in-progress talk, yet one that makes for easy interaction and discussion. You might consider providing an overview of some of your recent work, or describing one aspect in more detail, or use it to get feedback on work you are thinking about starting. Poster topics will be chosen that appear that they will be of interest to the attendees and that will generate lively discussions. Suitable topics include those appropriate for the OSDI symposium. The Poster session is being organized by Fred Douglis. Mechanics of SubmissionTo obtain a poster-session slot, please:
Your poster will be listed on the conference web site, and you will be expected to provide an extended abstract for the web site as well. USENIX uses 3' x 4' poster boards (they are very sturdy/strong). They provide push pins and an easel. Blank poster boards will be handed out presenters when they pick up their conference materials at the conference. Upon request, they can also provide a table/chair/power for your laptop if needed. (The mechanics of the submission process are largely borrowed from John Wilkes's procedure for SOSP'99 posters. His permission is appreciated.) Important Dates
Note: A Work- in-Progress session is also being held at OSDI. Authors may submit the same work both for WiP and Poster presentation if they desire.
