JaRTS: A Portable Implementation of Real-Time Core Extensions for Java
Urs Gleim, Siemens AG, Corporate Technology
Abstract
To implement real-time tasks in Java the Java Virtual Machine has to
be enhanced by the ability to run threads in a predictable time and to
access hardware directly. One approach is to provide a real-time
add-on for standard Java Virtual Machines. Benefits of this approach
are a better predictability, a better scalability and more flexibility.
In this paper JaRTSan implementation of the Real-Time Core
Extensions specificationis presented. Some implementation details
are inspected and first results are shown.
