Work-in-Progress Session: Call for Papers
Researchers are invited to submit abstracts of new research for inclusion in an
informal Work-in-Progress session at the second USENIX Java Virtual Machine
Research and Technology Symposium (Java VM'02), to be held in San Francisco, CA,
August 1-2, 2002.
Abstracts of 1-2 pages (inclusive of any figures) should be submitted
electronically to Jaejin Lee (jvm02wip@usenix.org)
by June 7, 2002 (this is a
hard deadline). Abstracts should be in PostScript or PDF formats, viewable by
Ghostview or Acroread. Submissions longer than 2 pages will not be considered.
Program committee members will select the best abstracts for 10- to 15-minute
talks during the session. This is intended to be a fun, informal session that
will spark ideas and interactions. Topics of interest include all aspects of
Java Virtual Machine technology, including (but not limited to):
Abstracts should clearly communicate the ideas behind the work, and should
highlight any initial results. Submissions will be selected based on
originality, the importance of the problem addressed, and the potential for
conveying the ideas clearly in a mere ten minutes. Mature work that has been
presented elsewhere in some form is inappropriate, and will not be considered.
Notification of acceptance will be sent by June 24, 2002.
Any questions should be directed to the Work-in-Progress session chair, Jaejin
Lee (jvm02wip@usenix.org). Please see the Java VM '02 home page for more details on
the symposium.
We look forward to your submissions!
