Project/Description

Mitosis: A High Performance, Scalable Virtual Memory System.
Many modern applications are using the Virtual Memory APIs introduced in the 80's in unforeseen ways that stress the underlying data structures, exposing the old design to a variety of performance and scalability problems. Although most systems have addressed some of these problems, they have done it in an ad-hoc manner, and none has solved them all. We propose to implement and evaluate a high performance and scalable Virtual Memory subsystem based on a design that addresses all current problems in a uniform and consistent way and is superior to any combination of previous approaches.

Current Status
The project is in a very early stage. The design was done in a previous project, and we have started to work towards its implementation.
